Uhsome has been a great place for me to grow as a person. I never have had an internship and in a major I was in just to see what would happen. But having this internship for over two months now I have learned so much!
One of the first things I learned was how to write a proposal. My first day Chris walked in and said, “read this tell me what you think.” I just nodded my head and started reading. As I was reading it, I learned how you have to lay out exactly what you are going to do and how it will be approached. I learned how you have to tell people exactly what you are doing so they know what to expect. I personally am really bad at this because I always think people can read my mind. So I now know that you have to use as much detail as possible so that everyone else can see what you are thinking.
Next thing I learned is giving feedback. Chris and Milan are always e-mailing me asking how something looks or if needs to be changed. I have learned that it is important to give your honest opinion because I am a consumer and can see what should be changed. It is important to be honest because this way the logo or website can be the best it can be!
I have also figured out that the job never ends. Being in the office for only a few hours is never true. I check my Uhsome e-mail just as much as I check Twitter. Yes most of the time there is nothing there but I know if I wait for the time that I am actually in the office to check it, something might have already been due or I should have done a while ago. I am always writing content or making sure an idea is okay. The intern life never ends.
I love interning at Uhome. It truly has made me fall in love with media marketing. I can honestly say this is what I want to do with my life. I love the idea of making logos and websites for clients to improve their business. I am really looking forward to see what else I can learn from interning at Uhsome.
